Theatre Basel is the municipal theatre of the city of Basel, Switzerland, which is home to the city’s opera and ballet companies. Since 1975, Swiss culture fans have appreciated the Theatre Basel for its numerous performances and great variety. The Theatre Basel houses the ‘Big Stage’ with 1,200 seats and the ‘Small Stage’ with 320 seats.
The renovation of the upper stage machinery (Big Stage) as well as the replacement of the machinery control system by the C⋅A⋅T system have been realised in 2 phases (2015 and 2016-2018). In the course of these renovations, all prospect hoists and the point hoist system were renewed, and existing auxiliary drives were modernized and integrated into the control system.
Twelve scissor lifting podiums were installed in the „Small Stage“ parallel to the renovation of the „Big Stage“ (summer 2015). These have a very low height of only 250 mm. The payload is 4.5/7.5 kN with a travel range of 1.16 m and an area of 1×3 m.
