BMW World was designed by Austrian architects Coop Himmelb(l)au between 2003 and 2007. Each year, approximately 45,500 vehicles are handed over to their new owners and approximately 850,000 visitors pass through the doors of the venue.
The auditorium equipped by Waagner-Biro Stage Systems is the heart of the BMW World. 33 podiums, 24 machines and lighting hoists and 28 belt and chain hoists that are integrated in the C⋅A⋅T control system make the use of this space highly flexible. At the height graduated and equipped with chairs, podiums create space for cinema and theatre performances, concerts and recitals. As a level surface the hall can be used for exhibitions, banquets, etc.
A wall that can be lowered into the floor allows to separate the auditorium from the rest of BMW World by a soundproof barrier. In addition, Waagner-Biro Stage Systems delivered a radio-controlled turntable dare, movie screens and a special revolving stage
